SHRA is very proud of their youth teams. The SHRA Sharks have a long history of great swim, dive, and tennis teams, with hardworking coaches, supportive parents and kids, who know how to have fun and compete. Masters’ Swim Program

SHRA offers a morning swim program for adults (18 and older). Coached by the SHRA Shark coaching staff, the program provides a chance to brush up on your technique and get some great exercise. Practice will be offered all summer from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Monday-Friday 6:30-7:30am. It begins Monday, Memorial Day, and runs through the Friday before Labor Day. Cost is $250 for the summer (70 swims) or $7.00 per practice ($10.00 for non-members). Open to non-members, for more information, send an e-mail to masterswim@shrasharks.org.

Adult Tennis Teams

Adult Tennis Program– If you are 18 or older and like to play tennis, SHRA’s Adult Tennis team is for you! Matches are held once a week, usually on the weekends, throughout the summer. There is no cost to join adult tennis, but there are some fees associated with the matches. So pick up your racquet and contact adulttennis@shrasharks.org for more information.

Adult Men’s Program– SHRA Men’s tennis participated in the Northern Virginia Tennis League in the 10-D Men’s Division. The SHRA men won the 10-D division for the 2nd year in a row. The matches consist of 4 singles matches and 3 doubles matches. The regular men’s season record was 8-1, with the only loss to Sudley. Five matches were played at SHRA and five matches were played at the opponents’ club. One match was rained out. The men competed against Sudley, Fairfax Racquet, Arlington Forest, Oakton, and Cardinal Hill. SHRA ended the season at #1 with a record of 8-1. The SHRA men are currently enjoying success in the NVTL Prosper Hill Memorial Tournament by beating Chesterbrook, and Sudley, and will play Fairfax Racquet for the tournament championship on Saturday, August 23rd at SHRA. A victory in the tournament championship game will give the men a season ending record of 11-1. You can access the Northern Virginia Tennis League with the www.nvtl.org link.

SHRA Lady’s Tennis – The SHRA Ladies Tennis team plays in the Northern Virginia Tennis League in the evening “C” level division. Our matches are played on Tuesday evenings (usually around 6:30pm) and consist of one singles match and three doubles matches. One of our team goals is to allow as many members as possible to play in matches throughout our season; we feel that match play is a lot more fun than just practicing. Team membership is open to any female members of the club age 17+. We have several high school and college age players (although no college team players are allowed in the “C” division) but most of our members are adults. Our matches begin in mid-May and last through early July. Practices are not specifically scheduled; flexibility is important for most of our members.
